Connector kit To get the most out of your rain water, you can use a connector kit to connect two (or more) rain barrels together. Each connector kit costs $14.99 and comes with a specially-produced five-foot hose with female fittings on both ends. Click here for information on how to install your connector kit.
Adjust-A-Spout If you are particularly worried about water around the foundation where you are installing your rain barrel, we suggest using a rain diverter. This is a device that allows you to manually direct the rainwater either into your rain barrel or, when it's full, to flowerbeds or other landscape features rather than allowing water to pool around your foundation and potentially seeping into your house. We offer the Adjust-A-Spout rain diverter for $15.99, a very inexpensive solution that has quite a few advantages:
• Extends up to 6 feet, swivels 180 degrees, and easily flips up to a vertical position
• Will not hold stagnant water
• Clog-free design
• Fits both 2” x 3” and 3” x 4” downspouts
• Available in white or brown

Snuggly This heavy duty embossed vinyl cover allows you to leave your rain barrel in place during the winter months. Simply drain the water from your rain barrel to just below the bottom spigot, leaving enough water for weight. Then cover the barrel with Snuggly. You don't have to worry about water freezing and damaging your barrel because there is enough space in the barrel for the water to expand when it freezes. As long as no additional water gets inside, the rain barrel will be fine. Originally designed for kettle grills, Snuggly comes equipped with an eyelet/cord/cordlock system to secure it to the barrel. Please note: If you are using the rain barrel to divert water from your basement, DO NOT use a Snuggly!
